YouTube Bans President Trump From Posting New Content For 7 Days
The public access that President Donald Trump has been enjoying since his presidency started has been depleted after the Pro-Trump riot took place. The unfiltered content we’ve got accustomed to seeing, reading, and hearing is almost completely gone.
BLACK ENTERPRISE reported that after the Jan. 6 fiasco at the U.S. Capitol, which was incited by President Donald Trump, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg had announced that the outgoing president is no longer allowed access to his Facebook and Instagram accounts “indefinitely.” After also having his Twitter account permanently suspended, another popular website has temporarily banned Trump from uploading content to his account.
YouTube has announced, via Twitter, that the outgoing president has been banned for 7 days after violating their policy when new content was uploaded to his account.
1/ After review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to Donald J. Trump’s channel for violating our policies. It now has its 1st strike & is temporarily prevented from uploading new content for a *minimum* of 7 days.

2/ Given the ongoing concerns about violence, we will also be indefinitely disabling comments on President Trump’s channel, as we’ve done to other channels where there are safety concerns found in the comments section. https://t.co/1aBENHGU5z

After the riot at the US Capitol took place, YouTube gave a clear and concise warning about posting videos with false claims.
1. Due to the disturbing events that transpired yesterday, and given that the election results have now been certified, starting today *any* channels posting new videos with false claims in violation of our policies will now receive a strike. https://t.co/aq3AVugzL7

2. Over the last month, we’ve removed thousands of videos which spread misinformation claiming widespread voter fraud changed the result of the 2020 election, including several videos President Trump posted to his channel.

3. Like other major policy updates, in our Help Center, we noted that there would be a short grace period after the Dec update & new content that broke our rules would be removed without penalty. The grace period was scheduled to end on Inauguration Day. https://t.co/3It2xphe70

4. Channels that receive a strike are temporarily suspended from posting or live streaming. Channels that receive three strikes in the same 90-day period will be permanently removed from YouTube. We apply our policies and penalties consistently, regardless of who uploads it.
