According to The Huffington Post, the role of Whitney Houston has been filled by Yaya DaCosta. The movie, which is due to debut in 2015, will be directed by Angela Basset.
DaCosta was featured on “America’s Next Top Model” and has made appearances on “All My
Children,” Ugly Betty,” House,” and “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.” She’ll be playing the role of Houston as she is chronicled through her early success in music and it will deal with her highly publicized relationship with New Edition member, Bobby Brown.This will be Bassett’s directorial debut, which is tentatively titled “Whitney Houston.” The script was written by Shem Bitterman and will be produced by Larry Sanitsky.
