The Chef of Wu-Tang Clan, Raekwon, is in the process of opening a cannabis lounge dubbed, Hashstoria in Newark, New Jersey, which is where the Hulu series Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga is filmed.
According to High Times, the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission is working out the kinks about rules for consumption areas.
High Times also reported that some commission members hesitated to approve Rae’s dispensary. However, after proposal improvements were made, commission members felt better about backing Hashstoria.
“I think it looks a whole lot better than what you presented before and I applaud you for it,” Commissioner Richard Grossklaus said to High Times.
High Times also reported that Hashstoria, a dispensary chain, combines the words hashish” and “Astoria” and is a dispensary with roots in Astoria, Oregon, where The Goonies was filmed. Locations are open in Gladstone and Springfield in Oregon as well. The fourth dispensary location and lounge will open in Newark.
Raekwon’s Compliments of the Chef can be purchased at Hashstoria, which also has merchandise and clothing, according to High Times.
Rae is the latest rapper to step into the dispensary business. He joins Rick Ross, Curren$y, Method Man and Redman, Soulja Boy, Juicy J, and Jay-Z, among several others.
Wu-Tang: An American Saga has returned to Hulu for its final season. The Hulu series is a fictional retelling of the formation of the iconic rap group Wu-Tang Clan, with RZA acting as executive director.
The show stars Ashton Sanders, Shameik Moore, Siddiq Saunderson, Julian Elijah Martinez, Marcus Callender, Zolee Griggs, T.J. Atoms, Dave East, Johnell Young, Uyoata Udi, and Damani Sease.
