According to CNN, they are the first female soldiers to graduate from the Army’s  Ranger School and after an intense two months of training, the women will graduate Friday, in Fort Benning Georgia, along with 96 other students.
“This course has proven that every soldier, regardless of gender, can achieve his or her full potential,” Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh said in a statement according to CNN.
This is the first time the Ranger program has ever been opened to women and the offer existed on a trial basis.
As for what’s to come? The women may have to wait and see. Unlike the male graduates, the two female soldiers are not allowed to apply to join the 75th Ranger Regiment, an elite special operations force.
