French Magazine, Black Attitude, recently released a jaw-dropping editorial photo spread featuring women poised in dapper attire, typically reserved for men. [Related: Plus Sized Model Challenges Fashion Industry's Definition of Beauty] "What makes you think of 'masculinity' is actually confidence," Black Attitude shoot- coordinator, Vanessa Bul'An'Sung told Mic.com. "We are not trying to frame 'masculinity' or 'femininity' here. No nice little boxes to fit. Just a Black Attitude state-of- mind." The shoot, titled Dandy Queens, was designed to pay homage to a subculture of black masculinity, and to those who strive to dress and impress through riveting fashion. Models Aurelie Lamalle, Marama Lee, and Khady Diallo, set sharp in tailored suits, colorful accents, crafted shoes and (it wouldn't be complete without it) elaborate natural hairstyles to bring it all together. Black Attitude artistic director, Catia Mota Da Cruz, told Mic, "It's all about the attitude. The subjects of the shoot don't need the help of fancy dresses or jewelry to look feminine and sexy."
