and I have been deeply involved in volunteer activities throughout our lives, and not just since we left the military. All of us who have talent and time, and have been blessed with resources, should give back. It’s a value that we should teach our children, particularly in the black community. So much has been given to us, so many opportunities are available to us that weren’t available to earlier generations. We have an obligation to make the most use of what’s offered to us and to give back and to help others.
