Warner Music Group Acquires Kevin Liles & Lyor Cohen’s 300 Entertainment In $400M Deal

Warner Music Group (WMG) has acquired 300 Entertainment, co-founded by accomplished Black executive and CEO Kevin Liles and Lyor Cohen.

300 Entertainment has a roster that includes Megan Thee Stallion, who received Best New Artist honors at this year’s Grammy Awards, Young Thug and hisYoung Stoner Life, Gunna, Fetty Wap, Highly Suspect, Mary J. Blige, and many other artists.

With the recent acquisition, Liles will serve as chairman and CEO for 300 and Elektra Music Group. Elektra Music Group will still be led by Co-Presidents Mike Easterlin

Since its inception, 300 Entertainment has been distributed by Atlantic Records.

300 Entertainment was founded nearly 10 years ago in 2012 by Liles and Cohen and fellow co-founders Roger Gold and Todd Moscowitz.

Financial Times has reported that the company was sold to Warner Music Group for more than $400 million, according to sources. Cohen, who currently works at YouTube, said: “300 is a way of life and is in very good hands.”

Acts associated with 300 Entertainment have won a total of four GRAMMY® Awards, 13 GRAMMY® Award nominations, a Shorty Award, almost 200 RIAA gold, platinum, multiplatinum, and diamond-certified singles, and NAACP Award, American Music Award, BET Award nominations and wins.
