Atlanta has been established as a mecca of Black business for decades. Today, the ATL can claim another title over other American cities: The Mecca of Black Health and Fitness, boasting top Black health experts, nutritionists, and fitness influencers, not to mention Morehouse Medical School. The metro is also home to several popular Black-owned fitness clubs, including The Loft Athletic Club, the official fitness partner of the 2024 Black Enterprise Health is Wealth Weekend in Atlanta. Fitness power couple Jason and Halani Lobdell join Beyond The Hype to share their entrepreneurial journey and how The Loft became one of the most recognized gyms of Atlanta’s Black fitness movement.
