From Pupil to President: Dr. Valerie Kinloch

Dr. Valerie Kinloch is an accomplished author, poet, and transformational higher education leader who has worked at several universities across the country. She has returned to lead her alma mater, Johnson C. Smith University, entering her second year as president. The Charleston, South Carolina native discusses her vision and fundraising goals for JCSU, her research focused on literacies of Black people, and the support of fellow women who lead HBCUs.
