Empowering A New Generation of Film Industry Pros

More than four years ago, Dr. Jimmeka Anderson created a project focused on media literacy as part of her doctoral studies. What was meant to be a one-time initiative immediately garnered the support of Black female industry pros to become Black Girls Film Camp (BGFC), annually empowering a cohort of girls ages 13-18 for success in the film industry. Along with Co-Founder Sierra Davis, Anderson joins Beyond The Hype to share BGFC’s vision of “a world where there is an equitable representation of Black girls and women in media, and their stories drive narrative and policy change for social transformation.”
