Recently, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. honored President Obama’s right hand lady, Valerie Jarrett, with the Rosa L. Parks-Coretta Scott King Award.
During a public meeting at the sorority’s 66th Boule in Charlotte, N.C., Jarrett, who serves as a senior adviser to the president and assistant to the president for public engagement and intergovernmental affairs in the Obama administration, along with 15 other individuals, was honored for outstanding community contributions.
Although Jarrett was unable to attend the ceremony to collect her award, she sent out a tweet that showed just how appreciative she was of the honor saying, “Sending love to the ladies of @AKAsorority1908. Honored to receive a Rosa Parks&Coretta Scott King Award! W/u all in spirit tonight #AKABoule.”
Congrats to Jarrett on her well-deserved award.
