US-Africa Synergy, a New York-based nonprofit that harnesses resources to empower African youth, will host its third Annual African Cultural Evening (ACE) event May 30 at the Scholastic Theater in New York City.
The social
gathering will celebrate the beauty and diversity of African culture, featuring contemporary dance performances from West Africa as well as instrumentalists and musicians from Senegal and Congo. In addition, attendees will experience live plays, art and poetry by emerging African artists.“We are very pleased to hold our third annual African Cultural Evening this year. Last year our guest list included diplomats, young entrepreneurs, community leaders and more,†said Natacha Gwet, executive director
of US-Africa Synergy, in a statement. “With amazing host committee members, partners, sponsors and a lineup of stellar performances, this year’s event promises to be even more exciting and engaging than last year.â€The event’s proceeds
will support the African Women’s for Leadership (AWLEAD) Program, which US-Africa Synergy launched in 2011, to empower young African women through leadership and entrepreneurship. If interested in attending or to find more information, visit www.africanculturalevening.com.
