This week on The Urban Business Roundtable, Dywaine Betts Jr. talks with trucking maverick, Oscar Horton. Horton is President of Sun State International, a full service truck dealership with five locations in West Central Florida.
Since joining Sun State International in 2000, Horton has helped the Tampa, Fla., based company triple its revenue, placing it at No. 29 on the Black Enterprise list of the nation’s largest black-owned industrial services companies, with 2013 revenues of $106.1 million. The company has also won top recognition as a PepsiCo supplier. Horton pulls a seat up to The Roundtable to share just how through teamwork and unity he has found success.
Also, UBR Contributor Samantha Pass sits down with seasoned financial planner Vicki Brackens to discuss how to make a financial comeback. Brackens has more than 25 years experience and is currently the co-host of Financial Fitness on PBS affiliate WCNY in Syracuse, New York. She also founded the financial services firm Brackens Financial Solutions Network.
And finally, every week on UBR, you’ll hear Pepper Miller’s Y.O.U.-TURN segment, get motivation and inspiration from author and educator Dennis Kimbro, PhD, a wrap-up of tech news from the Chief Digital Aggregator for Johnson Publishing Co., Jun Mhoon, and our Patient Investor Report from Ariel Investments.
