While the overall unemployment rate in the US fell slightly to 7.4% in July, the jobless numbers in 28 states worsened.

Many of the jobs added were in the South and West.
Nevada showed the highest unemployment rate in July at 9.5%. North Dakota put up the lowest numbers, with a rate of just 3%.
