“That’s no way for a woman to become the first president, that’s for sure,” Trump said during a campaign rally in Wisconsin, according to Politico. “And if a woman is going to become the first president of the United States, it can’t be her. That would rip our country apart.

“This is not what people want, as then she comes in through the backdoor. This would not be what people want, especially because it’s her.”

Trump seemed to be talking about the possibility of Harris becoming the president after succeeding Joe Biden. Trump has made attacking Harris a major part of his re-election campaign, repeatedly labeling former Attorney General Harris as a California liberal and among the most far-left candidates in the Senate.

The president has also claimed Biden and Harris are supporters of the defund the police movement and have ignored the looting and rioters amid anti-racist protests that have ballooned over the summer. However, both Biden and Harris, a former prosecutor, have made statements in support of law enforcement.

Biden said he supports redirecting some police funding to address mental health or to change the prison system, something even those in law enforcement

have supported.

However, these haven’t stopped Trump’s attacks. During his Wisconsin rally Thursday, Trump called Harris a “vicious” candidate, referring to her clashes with Biden during the Democratic primary debates where Harris went after Biden on his support of the 1994 crime bill and his oppositions to busing programs.

Trump said Harris was the one “who treated sleepy Joe the worst,” using one of his many nicknames for Biden. “I said brilliantly he will never pick her. Because she was too terrible to him,” Trump said. “But she picked him and hopefully that’s going to be history. It’s not going to matter.”

Harris for the most part has chosen to ignore Trump and his attacks. She spent the week touring wildfire damage in California and in Philadelphia talking with Black business owners and greeting supporters outside of a hair salon.
