“Girls Trip” actress Tiffany Haddish is running things to get a biopic moving!
Haddish is partnering up with Game1
and Al Joyner to bring the story of famed Olympian Florence Griffith Joyner to the screen. The biopic was announced by Game1 on its Facebook page.“To create the best sports content, you need the best team. According to Deadline, Haddish will produce and play the track-and-field legend who was known as Flo-Jo. The film will dwell into the Olympian’s life and untimely death. Therese Andrews, EVP of Production at Game1, is spearheading the entire project, while Game1 Co-CEO’s Basil Iwanyk and Greg Economou will serve as producers on the project. Joyner’s former coach, and husband, Al Joyner, will serve as producer and creative consultant.
“I am looking forward to telling Flo-Jo’s story the way it should be told,” said Haddish. “My goal with this film is making sure that younger generations know my ‘she-ro’ Flo-Jo, the fastest woman in the world to this day, existed.”
