Walmart + Black Enterprise: A Can’t-Miss Forum On Supplier Diversity In The 21st Century

On Oct. 1, Black Enterprise and Walmart present the 20/20 Vision Forum: Supplier Diversity in the 21st Century.

The forum explores how entrepreneurs can prepare themselves and their ventures for that first big break, to form profitable partnerships with large corporations as part of their supply chain.

Black Enterprise and Walmart is looking to host between 150-200 people, consisting mostly of influential African American corporate professionals, economists, politicians, educators and business owners.

The event kicks off at 8am with a private breakfast and reception. Attendees get a chance to network for an hour before listening to Welcome Remarks and Introductions from Earl “Butch” Graves Jr.,CEO and President of Black Enterprise.

The rundown of events at this can’t miss event features:

Building Banking Relationships: A designated Entrepreneur will share perspective and insight on building and solidifying a relationship with a small business banker and community lender.

Shelf Space: Going from Local to National distribution: A conversation with a Walmart Supplier and Regional Manager. A panel moderated by Black Enterprise Magazine Editor-in-Chief and Senior Vice President Derek Dingle. Panelists include Kevin Hester, Regional Merchandise Manager at Walmart and Stephen Gilchrist, President, GLS Distributors-Wallace Pork Skins.

It also features a list of other panels moderated by various Black Enterprise and Walmart senior management team and is a gem for entrepreneurs looking to take their supply businesses up a notch.

Another major can’t miss panel is moderated by Alfred A. Edmond Jr., senior vice president and chief content officer at Black Enterprise.

The panel is called BE Talks Technology, Innovation, Sustainability and Scaling Up: Small Teams + Small Partners = Big Ideas and Big Innovation. In dynamic fashion, a group of speakers will be given 10 minutes each to discuss core topics, such as innovation, wearable tech, sustainability as a business strategy, growing your company and several other key issues integral to scaling up a business. There is also a 15-minute Q & A.
