Now the potato chips are notorious! According to AllHipHop, Rap Snacks is releasing a line of potato chips under the Notorious B.I.G. ICON series.
The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace)’s mother, Voletta Wallace, has partnered with Rap Snacks’ founders James Lindsay and Percy Miller (Master P) to create the Biggie Icon brand of chips to benefit the late rap star’s Christopher Wallace Foundation and Rap Snacks ‘Boss Up’ Foundation.
The flavors for the potato chips are the Big Poppa Cookout BBQ Sauce Potato Chips and Notorious Honey Jalapeno Potato Chips. Master P also has a new ICON Rap Snacks flavor bearing his name with the Bar-B-Quin with my Honey Cheese Puffs.
“I’m happy to announce our partnership with Rap Snacks to create deliciously flavored potato chips packaged with my son’s, Notorious B.I.G. moniker and image,” Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, tells Billboard. “Our primary focus in doing this deal was to assure a portion of proceeds of sales are paid to The Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation to further our efforts of providing computers, books and other educational tools to inner-city youth as well as assistance to the elderly in the urban communities.”
“It is essential to Rap Snacks and the Rap Snacks Boss Up Foundation that as a brand, we connect with and support the icons that have made the greatest impact on culture,” Lindsay adds. “This partnership is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to those change-makers but through these collaborations, we are able to give back to our own in a meaningful way. We value the roles our icons have played and are grateful for their service to urban communities.”
This comes on the heels of the company announcing Rap Snacks ICON Ramen Noodles. The ICON Ramen Noodles will include flavors like Hot n’ Spicy Cajun Shrimp, Creamy Chicken Gumbo, Spicy Picante Chicken, and Sirloin Steak Beefy. Miller proclaims in the Instagram clip, “If you ain’t eating Rap Noodles, then you shouldn’t be eating noodles ’cause this is the best of the best noodles.”
