This was based on the 2014 National Basketball Association Racial and Gender Report Card (RGRC) released recently. The overall grade was an A with 91 points, up from 90.7 in the 2013 RGRC. The NBA is the best for all three categories among men’s professional sports.

Richard Lapchick, the director of The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport (TIDES or The Institute) and primary author of the report

stated, “The NBA remains the industry leader among men’s sports for racial hiring practices. While they do well overall for gender, especially in the League Office, women are still not well represented at the senior team levels. Nonetheless, no other men’s league reaches the same points for race, gender or the combined score.”
