The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many major in-person events to be canceled until the viral outbreak can be contained. In a time when so many across the country are still unemployed, digital resources to secure career and job opportunities have become more vital than ever before.
This week, Charlotte-based professional development firm Stand & Deliver
is taking their networking event virtual this year with the kick-off of the 7th annual Charlotte Professional Networking Week. The event series creator, author and networking expert Carlos V. Davis, says it was important to host the event online during the public health crisis to ensure the safety of all the participants and staff involved.“With this being the seventh year of the event amid a pandemic, we had to pivot to make it safe for our attendees,” says Davis in a press statement statement. “We found a technology that mirrors in-person networking and events so that we can bring as much value and collaboration online as we have done with our past in-person events.”
The events for the virtual series will include the Connecting The Dots: Professional Connections Luncheon, featuring a fireside chat with the chief diversity officer of Nationwide Insurance, Angela Bretz, and Development Expo being held on Saturday, January 23, to provide professional resources and information from accredited vendors.
