The 2014 Midterm Elections
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, the Midterm Elections took place in the United States, which was the most expensive in the nation’s history, with the total spending for the races reaching $3.7 billion. The results included the Republican Party gaining control of Senate for the first time since January 2007, with 53 seats in the Senate, 246 in the House, 31 governorships and 67 state legislative chambers. In almost a century, these elections yielded the biggest Republican majority, with their largest majority in the House since 1946 and in Congress since 1928. The 2014 Midterm Elections were an extremely hot topic and the results are determining our political future and it is going to bring serious change to our government for the next two years.
