Black Men Winning: 4 Stellar Leaders in Tech Innovation

Michael Seibel

More than 20 million iPhone and Android users might not know Michael Seibel’s name, but they definitely know his app, Socialcam.

Siebel, who was a tech leader selected for Black Enterprise’s “40 Next”  list, continues to serve as general manager after the app was sold last August for $60 million.

Before his success with Socialcam, Seibel co-founded Justin.tv (currently Twitch.tv) a 23 million user-strong community for gamers to interact through video.

As a part-time partner at Silicon Valley’s Y-Combinator, a start-up accelerator, Seibel uses his experience to help other entrepreneurs achieve success.

Don Charlton

In 2009, Don Charlton founded The Resumator, online recruiting software used by over 6,500 employers including Mashable, Hootsuite and Warby Parker eyewear.

Recently featured on Business Insider’s 25 Most Influential African Americans in Technology, Charlton’s software was also used by both the Barack Obama and Mitt Romney 2012 presidential campaigns.

According to the company’s Website, the software facilitates a more collaborative process, handling sourcing, screening and interviewing.
