In an answer to gun control and safety in schools South Carolina Senator, Lee Bright, believes that offering students an opportunity to shoot a gun will prevent more crime, or school shootings from happening.
The “South Carolina Gun Safety Program” is a proposed bill by Republican Senator Lee Bright. The bill will integrate a gun and shooting class into state high schools. The class would be optional and be held off-campus at a shooting range.
“I believe the more guns we have the safer we are,” Bright told WSOC. “Because had there been someone in Newtown with a weapon, had it been a teacher, they could have stopped it early.”
