Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Just in time for this day of love and a month filled with red (Heart Disease awareness), Target has released yet another designer collection that you will fall head over heels for.
The Prabal Gurung for Target
collection is one of the Target’s most anticipated collaborations. Prabal Gurung is amongst the young wave of designers taking the fashion industry by storm, creating a legion of fans along the way. Known for his attention to detail, Gurung’s infuses distinct prints and patterns into impeccably tailored pieces that compliment a women’s silhouette. Everyone from First Lady Michelle Obama to Queen Bey have been seen in his eponymous line.  Typically sold at high-end department stores for thousands of dollars, the Target collection makes the celebrated designer’s style accessible to the masses. I got to shop the collection a little early and honestly, I have to tell you, I love it! I bought a few pieces, and it’s one of the best collaborations Target has done in the history of it’s partnerships. (You can watch my fashion haul here). The limited-edition collection, inspired by love, includes more than 90 pieces that are true to Gurung’s design aesthetic. From black-and-white florals to colorful prints with shorts, skirts and accessories, the collection features something for every woman’s wardrobe. The dresses offer great transitional pieces that can go from day to night with ease. (I was especially excited about the lace-up pumps!) At $40, it’s a great time to try the trendy style at a fraction of the price. (And I can happily report that the shoes are comfortable or at least as comfy as a pair of heels can be.)
The collection launched Feb 10 with select pieces available online vs. in store. The only problem, it’s so good that it’s selling out in most places. So, if you’re interested in getting the high-end designer in your work wardrobe, I encourage you to find out when your local Target restocks and stalk the Website in the meantime. Believe me, you will love it.
