Knight was speaking candidly on the latest episode of Collect Call with Suge Knight about the fight he got into in jail with one inmate who tried bad-mouthing Winfrey.

“I remember back in the day, doing time, when people said

something bad about Oprah Winfrey. Sh*t, I got in their a**,” Knight said. “You talking about this Black woman. I fried their sh*t up, slapped the sh*t out of them—‘Don’t say nothing about this Black sister.’”

Despite his admitted admiration for Winfrey, Knight still questions why she refused to have rappers on her famed talk show during its heyday in the 90s and early 2000s.

“At the same time, Oprah wouldn’t put rappers on her show, but Oprah promoted Straight Outta Compton,” he said. “Even though Straight Outta Compton tried to kill me and had me doing time right now.”

Knight is currently serving a 28-year sentence for a fatal hit-and-run incident in 2015 that occurred due to his issues with the film Straight Outta Compton. Terry Carter was killed after Knight and one of his longtime rivals, Cle “Bone” Sloan, started fighting outside a Compton burger stand in January 2015, the Florida Times-Union reports.

Knight was upset about his portrayal in the N.W.A. biopic, which Sloan was serving as a consultant. Knight seriously injured Sloan after hitting him with his pickup truck before speeding through the parking lot and running over Carter as he fled the scene.

In October 2018, Knight was sentenced to 28 years in prison, 22 years for running over Clark and 6 years because it was Knight’s third strike under California’s three-strikes law. Knight is currently serving out his sentence at RJ Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego and will not be eligible for parole until October 2034.

He launched his podcast from prison in October and it’s been getting him into more trouble. Akon recently threatened to sue Knight after he accused the singer of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old.
