Whether you’re the style devil in Prada or the apprentice with limited apparel, you’ll find something in the Style Suite to suit your needs.
Recently my editor challenged me to style a jumpsuit for the office asking, “Is it possible to wear a jumper in the workplace?” Well, today’s Style Suite will prove that it’s not only possible but that a jumpsuit is one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your closet. Forget about the cool-kid ideaology associated with the one-piece suit. From slim-fit and sleeveless to long and loose, wearing one in the office can be a powerful fashion statement. Here are a few ways to style it with ease:
As Is: Depending on the shape and cut, a one-piece will work well in the office and is great for those mornings when you’re off to a late start and don’t have time to figure out which top to wear with which pants.
Layer It: Essentially a jumpsuit is a top and pants in one. By breaking it up with a vest and/or accessories, it can easily look like you’re wearing two separate pieces.
Break it up: Take the layer step to the next level and pair your jumpsuit with sweaters and complimenting tops to play up the lower half. With the right top, you can easily wear a one-piece just as you would a pair of pants. No one has to know you are actually wear a full jumpsuit underneath it all.
Whether you follow any one of the tips above or try out your own, the style options to a jumpsuit are endless. They are power pieces both professionally and personally. If all else fails in the work place, at the very least you can have a fun after-work, weekend piece to work with in your closet.
