Stephen Curry Launches UNDERRATED Golf For the Underrepresented

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has placed an effort to make golf accessible to those who could benefit from having more access.

With this in mind, he is launching UNDERRATED Golf.

The three-time NBA champion and two-time MVP has announced the expansion to include the sport of golf to his UNDERRATED brand. UNDERRATED is an inspiring lifestyle brand with a mission to empower underrated and underrepresented individuals all over the world.

“I created UNDERRATED back in 2019 with the goal of celebrating the underdog,” said Curry in a written statement.

“UNDERRATED is a mindset, a motivation, a calling, a compliment. With this inspiration, I am excited to expand the brand into UNDERRATED Golf, which happens to be one of the most inaccessible sports for underrepresented individuals across the globe. UNDERRATED Golf will provide equity, access and opportunity, recognizing the instrumental role the sport plays as one of the greatest vehicles and connectors for life successes.”

UNDERRATED Golf was conceptualized to become a purpose-driven business initiative to provide equity, access and opportunity to student-athletes from every community. This program will balance participation in the sport to truly reflect how our society looks. UNDERRATED Golf has a goal to increase participation amongst competitive golfers from diverse communities and will have players competing with their peers who represent the vast majority of today’s golfers.

Student-athletes who are selected to become a part of UNDERRATED Golf will be able to evolve with the sport for a chance to have a sustainable future outside of the sport. The best players at each of the regional events affiliated with UNDERRATED Golf will be identified and recognized. In its inaugural year, the UNDERRATED Golf Tour will select each of the 24 best boys and girls who will compete for a chance to take home the Curry Cup at the season-ending UNDERRATED Tour Championship.
