Cori Broadus, the daughter of rapper Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante Broadus, said she suffered a “severe stroke” via her Instagram stories.
She posted a photo that appeared to be taken in a dimly lit hospital room and that “I started breaking down crying when they told me.” She followed it with another photo with the caption, “Like I’m only 24, what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.”
The “Do My Thang” singer appeared on the Karamo Show last April, where she revealed she was diagnosed with lupus at the age of 6. The singer discussed her battle with the autoimmune disease and how dealing with cyberbullies has affected both her physical and mental health.
In September, Broadus told People she had been taking 10-12 medications daily for most of her life but decided to go “cold turkey”and take a holistic approach—including “herbs, sea moss, and teas”—to treat her symptoms.
Broadus said her health improved afterward. The Choc Factory owner said she no longer felt the aches in her joints, but she still wanted to change her diet and sleep habits to improve her overall health.
“If I can do a whole 360 change and get healthy all around, I think I would be so good. But I tell people all the time it’s a day-by-day process. Things are going to take time. Nothing is going to happen overnight,”
she told People.Although the disease can increase the risk of stroke, it is unknown if this incident was lupus-related.
