Circle of Sisters Expo Returns to New York to Empower Women


Circle of Sisters is back in New York this weekend. Founded in 1998, Circle of Sisters is the largest expo for women of color in New York City, featuring more than 200 vendors and small businesses, panel discussions, seminars, and concerts, all in New York City’s Jacob Javits Center. The Expo runs Oct. 4 to Oct. 5.

You can catch Black Enterprise‘s own moderating panels filled with experts in their fields at Circle of Sisters.

On Oct. 4, the “Money Management 101” panel of experts will including Ash Cash, Carla A. Harris of Morgan Staley, and Sabrina Lamb of WorldofMoney.org. Panelists will discuss what happens when you invest, save, and make your dollar pay for your lifestyle. The event is moderated by BE’s Caroline V. Clarke, host of the Black Enterprise Business Report and Women of Power TV show.

At 5 p.m., the “Power of Black Twitter” panel will feature the award-winning writer, blogger, community activist, and black feminist Feminista Jones, and CEO of Innov8tiv . The panel is moderated by BE’s Technology Editor Patrick Lucas Austin.

On Sunday, Oct. 5, at 11:30 a.m., join Kim Wales, CEO of Wales Capital, and Candace Mitchell, CEO of Techturized, at the Crowdfunding and the Art of Asking for Money panel. These business experts will show you alternative routes to getting your dream business financed. The panel will be hosted by Carolyn M. Brown, BE’s Senior Content Producer.
