#SB50: A Week’s Worth of Super Events Led Up to the Big Game

Mercedes-Benz wowed the crowd right before the game with the display of the G550 on the Iron Schöckl, a 45-degree angled steel ramp that took test-driving the tough car to a another level. Celebrities Jamie Foxx, TV Host Charissa Thompson and Olympic legend Michael Johnson tested their driving skills and enjoyed the special edition SUV.

Culinary masters Michael Mina and Charlie Palmer hosted the 2nd annual Culinary Kickoff. Ticket holders paid $5,000 per person to have the Michelin-starred chefs prepare a four-course meal during the exclusive dining experience. Bottles of premium select wines curated by renowned vintners Dan Kosta of Kosta Browne and Tuck Beckstoffer of TB Wines were poured along with magnums of “Fiftieth Reserve,” a limited production red wine produced specifically to commemorate Super Bowl 50 by Freemark Abbey Winery.  NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk hosted the event and ticket sale proceeds benefited the Culinary Kickoff Youth Scholarship Fund. The fund supports aspiring culinary and hospitality students with need based scholarships so they may pursue their dreams of attending the Culinary Institute of America.

Vault Experiences, in partnership with MINA Group hosted The Garden, an elegant tented experience in the heart of San Francisco’s Financial District. From the Tuesday before the game all the way through Super Bowl Sunday, The Garden showcased a theme, such as Draft Day Tuesday and Wine Wednesday and featured tastings Sonoma and Napa wineries. The events offered all-you-can-eat food from high-end tailgate inspired Japanese food stations from Ramen Bar + Bubble Lounge such as Ramen Bar burgers and tuna tacos, robatayki, hand rolls, football-themed rolls and sashimi stations as well as happy hour events with live music from 5-7pm each day.

And I’m happy to say I arrived in style to every event this weekend in the 2016 Mazda 6!

When it came down to game time, everything took a back seat. Levi’s Stadium was filled to the brim with anxious fans, bands, celebrities, and cheering as the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos hit the field. Peyton Manning led his team to victory with the final 24-10 score.

The Bay Area had something for everyone leading up to Super Bowl Sunday. These events and destinations were prime picks for area natives and the droves of tourists. #SB50 is still gaining traction from all of the excitement and festivities San Francisco had to offer. With experiences like the ones listed here, the excitement shouldn’t be dying down any time soon.
