Roberts underwent a bone marrow transplant (her sister was her donor) after complications from M.D.S., a rare blood disorder.

The morning show opened with the camera zoomed in on Roberts who said, “I have been waiting 174 days to say this: ‘Good Morning America.'”

The anchor, who many doubted would ever make her return to the news broadcast, was greeted with a standing ovation from the studio.

“I keep pinching myself, and I realize this is real,” she said. “This is actually happening.”

Roberts, who lost all of her hair from treatment, sported a low-cut and even joked about having “bangs” if you looked hard enough. Despite her vibrant return, Roberts’ continued health remains uncertain.
