Quincy Jones, Tyrese and Feel Rich Inc., Partner to Help New Mothers
Feel Rich, a multicultural health and fitness media company has teamed up with mobile application Text4babyand R&B singer Tyrese in a partnership to encourage mothers to sign up for information regarding wellness for their newborns.
The partnership, Feel Rich Moms, plans to use social media connections as well as celebrity role models to drive enrollment in the text messaging service. Text4baby subscribers will receive health and safety messages that correspond with key milestones in their babies development date leading up to their expected due date. This information is vital for a healthy pregnancy because infant mortality disproportionately affects the African-American community. African-American babies are 2.3 times as likely to die before their first birthday, compared to their non-Hispanic White peers.
“I was raised by a single parent growing up in South Central, Los Angeles,” Tyrese said. “It is an honor to be part of this program to help reach mothers, who through all of life’s adversity, put the health of their children first. If, in any way, my voice can be heard by a mother with a newborn or an expectant mom and be helpful in getting information to them, then I will know that being a part of the partnership with Text4baby and Johnson & Johnson will have a positive effect on the community.”
Quincy Jones, who was also raised by a single mother, also saw the need for this service.
“We know that through this free mobile service, moms will receive important health messages directly to their cell phones, and have the information they need at their fingertips.
“Feel Rich Moms is an integral step in text4baby’s outreach efforts as we work to support multicultural families and young mothers who can benefit from the service’s important health messages,” said Sarah Ingersoll, Text4Baby Campaign Director. “We are thrilled to welcome QD3, Tyrese, and the entire Feel Rich community as they join us in executing Text4baby’s critical mission.â€
In addition to being spokespersons for this partnership, Tyrese and Quincy Jones will reward one lucky family with a custom lullaby, as part of a contest. One runner-up will receive a year’s supply of Johnson & Johnson baby products.
