Hennessy and Pratt Institute Choose Winners of Project Wild Rabbit 2016
This year at Miami’s Art Basel, Hennessy, the world’s top cognac brand, and Pratt Institute picked the next generation of diverse artistic talent. Hip-hop legend Nas and Pratt alumnus Kadir Nelson acted as judges for the 2016 Wild Rabbit contest.
This is the fifth year Art Basel and Hennessy have partnered with Pratt Institute’s creative multidisciplinary graduate students to celebrate their original artworks. This year’s contest theme was inspired by the Hennessy Wild Rabbit personal success marketing campaign and the 250-year-old company’s “never stop; never settle†mantra.
Since 2012, Hennessy V.S has brought the power and mystery of the Wild Rabbit to life, through an integrated marketing campaign highlighting cultural icons, including hip-hop artist Nas and many other celebrated musicians and legendary filmmakers. Between consumers voting for their favorite Wild Rabbit-inspired piece, and the panel of artistic luminaries that included Nas, Kadir Nelson, and Hennessy’s limited edition artist Futura, the graduate students were given pre-Art Basel exposure through Hennessy’s many marketing platforms.
Project Wild Rabbit winners were announced at a private reception on Dec. 2 held at Miami’s Market Gallery. The two finalists, Setareh Parvin and Arian Beauregard, both received seed money to start their professional careers as artists.
