The Roots’ famed drummer and Philadelphia native Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson will co-teach a two-credit course about “classic albums” at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music this spring.
The class will investigate how and why particular albums have been deemed “classics” with analysis of the music, production, promotion and marketing of the albums.
A few albums scheduled to be included in the syllabus are Michael Jackson’s “Off The Wall,” Beastie Boys‘ “Paul’s Boutique” and  Led Zeppelin’s “IV.”
