Continuing his road trip around the country, President Barack Obama slammed Republicans for their latest shady political move.
Today, July 30, found Obama doing an event in Kansas City, Nebraska, where he detailed the GOP’s plan to sue him over his usage of executive actions. “They have announced that they are going to sue me for taking executive actions to help people,” Obama said. “They’re mad because I’m doing my job.”
The coolest Commander-in-Chief said that Republicans are “wasting valuable taxpayer dollars” by calling for a vote in the matter. Instead, they should be focusing on more important legislative matters that are in need of addressing. “Stop being mad all the time,” Obama said of the Republican Party, chuckling. “Stop just hatin’ all the time. Let’s get some work done.”
The House is expected to approve a resolution Wednesday (July 30) to authorize a lawsuit against the President of the United States for what the GOP calls his “overstepping of executive authority.” As the debate whether or not this is a reach toward an impeachment battle, this isn’t the first time that the opposition has challenged Obama in the form of a lawsuit.
In July, when House Speaker John Boehner was threatening the move, Obama told a Washington crowd that “Middle-class families can’t wait for Republicans in Congress to do stuff. So sue me.”
