President Barack Obama recently visited Franklin Barbecue in Austin, Texas. The coolest Commander-in-Chief around made a stop at the local food spot, where he ordered a ton of meat and was spotted giving a cashier one of his famous fist bumps. Daniel Rugg Webb, a comedian and part-time employee at Franklin Barbecue, broke down the story to the Austin Chronicle.
“As the president approached, Webb threw his hand down and slapped the counter dramatically. ‘Equal rights for gay people!'” he shouted, according to the paper. “Are you gay?” the president asked. “Only when I have sex,” Webb replied. It was then when the 44th president of the United States laughed and said, “Bump me,” and the duo shared a fist pump. “It was just a lucky day to be the register girl,” Webb said when the president, who reportedly ordered more than $300 worth of food for both his crew and the people he cut in line, visited the restaurant.
Back in June, Obama signed an executive order that would ban workplace discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees of federal contractors. Obama’s trip to Austin, Texas, found him speaking about the ongoing border crisis and addressed Republicans’ recent claims that he should be impeached.
