Or, at least it was for one Rhode Island man, whose fake $100 bills featured the face of the 16th president of the United States – not Benjamin Franklin.
Dane Leland, of Central Falls, pled guilty to not paying attention in history class charges of uttering and being in possession of a counterfeit note. The 29-year-old man was held on $1,000 cash bail.
Police told the media that Leland tried to use the notes three consecutive days at the same store.
