Paula Deen’s contract will not be renewed by the Food Network once it expires at the end of the month. The decision comes after Deen admitted during a deposition to using the N-word.
Deen attempted to do damage control by releasing an apology video on Youtube earlier today, in which she said “she wants to learn from this inappropriate and hurtful behavior.” Many viewers considered it to be insincere.
Deen made a second apology video that begins “Hello Ya’ll,” and goes on to explain why she was MIA for her interview with Matt Lauer on the Today Show, and apologizes again.
“I offer my sincere apology for those that I have hurt. Please forgive me.”
Shortly after the second video was released, the Food Network announced that they will not be renewing her contract.
Deen has released a statement thanking the Food Network for “11 great years.”
