[Passion to Purpose] Meet Salim Weldon, Food Entrepreneur


Appropriate for any occasion, Whimsicles are available for special occasions ranging from baby showers and birthday parties to weddings and corporate events. Believing that one day Whimsicle will be available all over the world, Weldon and his team have a mission to change the perception of the popsicle while striving for a healthy eating movement. He says, “we started cutting the fruit and making Whimsicle in a shared kitchen. Now I visit schools in the tri-state area and tell the students how we are doing events for Epic records, Rocnation, and Made in America.”

Weldon has worked with big clients, but nothing is bigger than Whimsicles goal to fight childhood obesity. “We do not add any sugar to our products,” Weldon tells BE Modern Man.We are well aware of the national childhood obesity epidemic and the significant health, psychological, and social issues that can be triggered as a result. This is top of mind in everything that we do as a company.”

By incorporating fruit pops, fashion, art, and music, the Whimsicle movement is healthy, strong and growing. “Being a BE Modern Man means being one whose impact stretches beyond his daily contact with friends and family. He is a man who is laying down the foundation to change the world.”
