With her blessings in order, Oprah Winfrey, also known as the undisputed Queen of All Media, will narrate her first audiobook.
The OWN Network CEO will lend her vocal talents to What I Know for Sure, an updated collection of the monthly column she has written for O, The Oprah Magazine for the past 14 years.
In announcing the audiobook news, Mary Beth Roche, president and publisher of Macmillan Audio, said, “Throughout her career, Oprah has created unparalleled connections with millions of people. Listeners to the audiobook will appreciate hearing the thoughtful insights shared in this book in Oprah’s own voice.”
The book will be organized around the themes of joy, awe, possibility, and will offer “readers a guide to becoming their best selves.”
For those unaware, Winfrey began writing her monthly column after the late film critic, Gene Siskel, asked her, “What do you know for sure?”
Winfrey, 60, has co-authored several self-help books with her personal trainer, Bob Greene. Although she has never really mired deep through her own life in the form of a full-fledge memoir, it is apparent that any effort by her to put pen to pad to create a book means that publishers would pay millions for it.
Published by Flatiron (Castro’s Secrets, Never Call Retreat), the work will consist of Oprah Winfrey narrating the four-hour audio, which will be available from Audible to iTunes on September 2, 2014.
