Oklahoma Man Admits to Killing Neighbor and Cooking Her Heart Before Taking the Lives of Two Family Members

A man in Oklahoma has allegedly confessed to killing one of his neighbors, cutting out her heart, and cooking it in preparation to feed his family. He then went on to kill his uncle and the uncle’s granddaughter, and maim his aunt.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has stated that they have been actively investigating the death of a woman whose murder is tied to the murders of a 67-year-old man and his 4-year old granddaughter.

The man, identified as 42-year-old Lawrence Paul Anderson, is the suspect in the murders of Leon Pye and his granddaughter Kaeos Yates. While in the custody of authorities at the hospital on Feb. 12, 2021, Anderson admitted to the agents that he had also killed a neighbor that lived on the same street as the Pyes. The police officers had gone to the house where 41-year-old Andrea Lynn Blankenship lived and discovered her stabbed to death.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has put out a statement regarding the incident that took place less than two weeks ago.

“This case began on February 9, 2021, when a 9-1-1 call was made from the Pye’s home but the caller hung up. Chickasha police were dispatched and attempted to make contact with the homeowner. While attempting to make contact at the door, officers could hear someone inside the home calling for help. Officers forced entry and discovered four people injured inside the home. Leon and Kaeos were pronounced deceased at the scene. Pye’s wife, Delsie, was maimed during the attack and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Delsie has since been treated and released from the hospital.

“Agents have evidence supporting that Blankenship was murdered first. Then Anderson went to the Pye’s house maiming Delsie and murdering Leon and Kaeos. Anderson was taken into custody at the scene and then transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was released from the hospital on Monday, February 15, 2021, and transported to the Grady County Jail. He is facing multiple charges, however, due to the severe weather and related closings, official charges have not yet been filed.”

The Oklahoman reported that Anderson is a repeat felon who had been released early from prison in January. His sentence was commuted by Gov. Kevin Stitt after he had been in jail since 2017, scheduled to serve 20 years.

The governor commuted the sentence to nine years at the recommendation of the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board. Anderson served a little more than three years. He had been staying with his uncle, Leon Pye, and aunt, Delsie Pye, since his release.
