On Wednesday, President Barack Obama will embark on a week-long trip to Africa, his longest trip to the continent since taking office.
The president will be seeking more opportunites for U.S. businesses in Africa where China and other emerging economies have been doing well.
The White House says the president is mindful of the health of former South African President Nelson Mandela, who has been in the hospital for two weeks. The White House says it will wait on word from Mandela’s family about whether Mandela will be able to meet with President Obama.
