NY Graduation Rates for Black, Hispanic Boys Lowest in Nation

New York black and Hispanic males in high school have the lowest graduation rate in the country. According to the Schott Foundation for Public Education, minority high school males only have a 37 percent graduation rate in four years.
The graduation rate for white male students in New York is 78 percent. New York City Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott says the city is working to address the poor graduation rate among black and Hispanic boys, but noted that many do graduate in five or six years.
