Reports Claim Current NFL Player Plans to Reveal He’s Gay
According to CBSSPorts.com reporter Mike Freeman, a current gay NFL player is “strongly considering coming out publicly.”
The player plans on coming out in the next few months and moving along with his career.
Freeman concluded this information from various interviews with active and former NFL players, but he does not know who the player is exactly. Whoever the player is that comes out, it would be a historical move in U.S. professional team sports.
Homosexuality has never been so actively a part of conversation in the NFL. Players like Minnesota Vikings Chris Kluwe, and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo have been publicly supportive of gay marriage all last year.
Hopefully one player is strong enough to make history, and the NFL audience is ready.
