Singer Akon, who reportedly makes $40,000 per month, has been ordered to pay child support in the amount of $5,000 each month to support his two sons born out of wedlock in 2008 and 2009, the Urban Daily reports.
Akon asked the court to grant him joint legal custody, and allow him to be involved in all major decisions, ensure the boys keep his last name of Thiam, and most importantly establish child support.
He reportedly did not try to hide the amount of money he was making and requested that his two sons out of wedlock be able to inherit as if they were born in wedlock.
Akon makes six other child support payments each month, in addition to the amount adjudicated.
