[RECAP] 18th Annual Wall Street Project Economic Summit Days One and Two

On Tuesday Jan. 13, the 18th Annual Wall Street Project Economic Summit kicked off in New York City at the Sheraton, the New York Times Square Hotel. The three day event is featuring Black Enterprise and Reverend Jesse L. Jackson of Rainbow PUSH Coalition & Citizenship Education Fund, to unite and to empower the community. Rev. Jesse Jackson lead an intimate discussion on diversity, leadership, and corporate boards.

On the first day, the CEO of Intel Brian Krzanich detailed the company’s recent announcement, which established a $300 million diversity investment fund. Black Enterprise also presented “The 40 Best Companies for Diversity” during the opening luncheon. During the day two, various industry leaders across hip-hop and sports business, such as Steve Ballmer, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, discussed everything from economics to business to his passion towards technology. Along with Ballmer, various other business professionals took the stage.

Martin Luther King. Jr’s dream of economic equality and justice remains to be the ultimate goal of the event. The WSP engages professionals and helps to spread diversity amongst all industries. Other panel speakers included the President and CEO of Black Enterprise Earl G. (Butch) Graves, Jr., Ras Baraka, Rakim Allah, Rah, Digga, Rick Ross, and Erick Sermon. The event brought hundreds of people together to hear business and tech leaders talk diversity and inclusion. The final panels of the Wall Street Project Economic Summit are taking place today.
