The National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) is bringing together some of the premiere minority leaders for a discussion on entrepreneurship.
In a two part series to be held during a single evening, NAMIC—New York will host a panel of New York City’s top innovators and business owners to share their knowledge, as well as discuss the in-depth process of the first year of entrepreneurship with special focus given to the areas of digital and mobile media.
The panel, which will be moderator by Brian Shield, Co-founder of IncubateNYC, will highlight entrepreneurship in the digital and mobile media realm with a focus on communications and diversity. Also, Seema Shah of NYC Digital will present a special “Made in NY” presentation.
Invited panelists include Robert Reffkin, Co-founder of UrbanCompass, Lauren Maillian Bias, Founding Partner of Gen Y Capital Partners, Benjamin Dyett, Co-founder of Grind, Neal Shenoy, Co-founder of 212 Media, Imani Laners, CEO of Shinko Media, and Kat Calvin, Founder & CEO of Blerdology, formerly #BlackGirlsHack.
NAMIC-NY will also host individual intimate one-hour workshops after the panel discussion. These workshops will dive deep into key entrepreneurship topics. This will be open to NAMIC-NY members only and hosted by guest industry experts as listed below:

Neal Shenoy from 212 Media will demonstrate what NYC’s most active investors are looking for in a pitch. Neal will cover preparation for the pitch session, building and designing a compelling deck, following up after the meeting and ways to bring your idea to life.
