MSNBC has added Karen Finney as the host of an afternoon program airing on weekend’s from 4-5 p.m., joining Melissa Harris-Perry as the only African-American women to host such a time slot.
The new addition comes after many advocates and viewers complained that cable networks including MSNBC failed to diversify their anchor line-up.
Finney, who served as the first African-American spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee, has been an MSNBC political analyst and guest host on the network since 2009.
