A mother in Hollywood, Florida, has been left heartbroken after losing her husband and two children to what police believe was an accidental drowning.
Anne Marie Dolce frantically called 911 on Thursday when she stepped into her backyard and found her husband, Jean’ Wes’ Wisly Fontus, and their two children, 5-year-old Emmie and 2-year-old Tyler, unconscious inside of their pool, Local 10 reports.
Police responded shortly after 3:30 p.m. and found the horrific scene. All three victims were rushed to the hospital but did not survive. Authorities suspect no foul play and believe it was a horrible accident.
Family members say Fontus would often take Emmie and Tyler into the pool during the day. But something happened on Thursday that went terribly wrong. The family and authorities are unclear on exactly what caused the accident.
“They typically play in the yard and the pool, painting activities, they would ride their bikes on the patio or on the sidewalk,” Dolce said.
Dolce is mourning the loss of her family and trying to stay positive by remembering the good times she shared with her husband and children.
“They were all full of love; it’s the only word I can use to describe it: love,” Dolce said. “The reality of the situation is what’s really heavy and hard.”
Emmie had already started reading and would expand her growing vocabulary using kind words, WSVN
reports.“‘I like your hair. I like your dress. That baby is so cute.’ It’s just the way she spoke and who she was, very loving,” Dolce recalled of her young daughter.
She remembers her son Tyler as an active 2-year-old ready to conquer the world.
“He thought he was some sort of superhero, but he was my superhero,” she said.
Dolce credits her husband for being a lively person who was always down to entertain guests.
“This was a party. It was always a party here,” Dolce said of Fontus. “Music was blaring, and everyone was always invited.”
Dolce has set up a GoFundMe to receive support as she prepares to lay her husband and two children to rest.
“Support is why I am still sitting here,” she said.
