Most Expensive States to Own a Car

Owning a car can be expensive. And if you own a car in one of the states listed on Bankrate.com’s recent report, you’re probably paying more than other residents.

The report, entitled Car-ownership Costs by State, analyzed factors such as the cost of gasoline, insurance, and repairs.

Wyoming wins the top spot for being the most expensive state to operate a motor vehicle. So if you want to pay loads of money to operate your car, move to Wyoming. Sure, you’ll just love spending more than the national average.

The cost for Wyomingites to operate their motor vehicles is roughly $2,705 per year. This is $482 more than the national average of $2,223.
